Counselling with compassion and care — where you are always welcome as you are
Welcome
Hello, I'm Julie, and I understand you might be asking...Am I the right professional for you? Will I truly grasp your world and its intricacies? How can I fit into your journey?
These are legitimate and necessary questions. Choosing a counsellor with whom you can entrust your deepest thoughts is key to feeling safe, understood, and creating the shifts you want in your life.
My Journey to Counselling
Let me share a little about my own path. I hold a Diploma in Psychotherapy & Person-Centred Counselling, and my varied career has taken me through human resources, education, and social care, even living in diverse countries and cultures. These experiences were paramount in deepening my love for creating profound connections with people. They have given me a unique understanding of diverse challenges and the complexities of human connection, which deeply informs my practice today.
I am a fully qualified therapist, registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I adhere to their ethical framework for good practice.
How I Work: The Person-Centred Approach
I see therapy as a partnership where you set the pace and we focus on what feels most important to you. My role isn't to give advice or tell you what to do, but to provide a supportive space for you to openly explore your own feelings and experiences. I believe that every individual has the capacity for change and healing, no matter the hardships or circumstances you may be facing. Together, we can gently make sense of things and help you discover your own unique path forward.
A Non-Judgmental Space
Whether that involves uncovering hidden angles or gently challenging patterns, my promise is to offer a genuine, honest, and non-judgmental space where your thoughts and feelings are met with sincere curiosity and consideration.
Therapy Tailored To You
Together, we will work at your pace, focusing on the issues that are most important to you, without a rigid agenda. There is no set length for therapy – whether short-term or long-term, the duration will always be entirely your decision.
Building Self-Awareness
In my practice, I work with individuals navigating a wide range of experiences—often described as anxiety, depression, grief, or trauma. My focus isn't on labels, but on exploring the emotions, behaviours, and ripple effects these experiences have on your life.
